What the market is

The market was developed by Orkin and Associates and Ron Wallace and is privately owned, per Appen Media. In 2021 an expansion added 11 new buildings with retail, restaurant and residential space. The market’s “Heart of Milton” brand goes with the 60-foot mural on its parking garage wall. Its own website does not state an opening year, so we don’t give one. Today the market says its CM West section is leasing.

The market sits inside the area the City has planned for. Milton adopted the Crabapple Conceptual Master Plan in 2012 to guide a village center, and the Crabapple form-based code, now Article 7A of the City’s Unified Development Code, asks that parking lots be screened from the street by buildings. That is why most lots in Crabapple sit behind buildings. The parking guide has the details.

Market District Crabapple is next door

A note on addresses: several Crabapple businesses print an Alpharetta mailing address or a 30009 ZIP. That is the postal name, not the city. The US Census geocoder places Crabapple Market inside the City of Milton, in Fulton County. More in Crabapple: Milton or Alpharetta?
