Start at The Green
The Green is a landscaped lawn with an open-air stage at Crabapple Market, across from Milton City Hall, per Crabapple Market. The market’s shops, restaurants and homes branch off it along walkways and trails. Most free community events in the village happen here or at Broadwell Pavilion, about 4 minutes away on foot. Walk the history
The Milton Historical Society says Crabapple got its name in 1874, when settlers built a log-cabin schoolhouse beside an old crabapple tree. (Milton Historical Society, checked Oct 18, 2026)
The same society notes that several historic buildings still stand at the five-way crossroads, where Crabapple Road, Broadwell Road, Mayfield Road, Birmingham Highway and Mid Broadwell Road meet. The Crabapple history walk links them with City Hall, which opened in 2017, and the barn-and-silo styled library.
Get outside
Broadwell Pavilion, at 12615 Broadwell Road, has a picnic pavilion and a playground, per the City of Milton. The City’s older facility listing describes Mayfield Park, across Mayfield Road from the library, as a five-acre park with a pier, pavilion and walking trails; the City has not reconfirmed that page this year.
